Easter Monday 18 April 2022 is a public holiday and applies to all eligible1 public health service employees. In accordance with section 21 of the Organisation of Working Time Act 1997 (“the OWT Act”), part-time employees qualify for the public holiday entitlement provided they have worked for their employer at least 40 hours during the period of 5 weeks ending on the day before that public holiday.

This Circular sets out:

• the 2% increase in annualised salaries from the 1st October 2020 as per Public Service Agreement 2018-2020
• the restoration of the 5% cut in fixed allowances as per the FEMPI Act 2009. This 5% is also applicable from the 1st October 2020

The HSE have confirmed that these pay adjustments will be applied to salaries by the 13th November with arrears paid no later than the 30th of November.
