Fathers may be granted three days special leave with pay in respect of each child born or placed for adoption on or after 1st January 2001. This leave is to be taken at the time of birth/placement or up to four weeks afterward. These provisions also apply to stillbirths after the 24th week of pregnancy.
Entitlement to leave is on a pro-rata basis in respect of job-sharing/flexible working arrangements. Further details on this scheme may be obtained through the Personnel Department.
