Dear Colleagues,

This year the PNA will continue its sponsorship of Members to attend the Horatio European Congress organised by Horatio and the German Psychiatric Nurses, having done so previously for events in Lisbon, Malta, Istanbul, Stockholm, Prague, Faroe Islands, Copenhagen Malmo and Berlin.

This event provides an opportunity to join us and reflect on the past 20 years. It is also a chance to meet new colleagues as we celebrate the past, present, and future of mental health nursing in Europe.

The PNA in supporting this Congress are pleased to confirm a number of bursaries which will be offered by lottery to Presenters of Papers, Officer Board Members, Branch Officers and Members.

This year’s bursaries will be worth approximately €1200.This Bursary is based on the combined cost of the Congress Fees, Flights and Accommodation.

Abstracts are being invited under the main theme of:

Rooted. Resilient. Ready. Fundamentals of Mental Health Nursing as Drivers for the Future.

We are looking for contributions that explore and celebrate the essential building blocks of mental health nursing—our values, skills, and relationships—and how these drive innovation, research, practice, and leadership in diverse contexts.

This includes (but is not limited to) work connected to:

• Foundational principles and evolving roles in mental health nursing
• Research and practice that highlight what makes our profession unique and impactful
• Real-world examples of compassion, interpersonal relationships, creativity, and resilience in care
• Innovations, interventions, and strategies shaping tomorrow’s mental health services
• Collaboration and co-creation with experts by experience, persons coping with mental health vulnerabilities and all other “interest” holders
• Interdisciplinary and intercultural learning across Europe
• Education, advocacy, policy, and systems leadership rooted in nursing values

This is the call for those WISHING TO PRESENT in the form of:

1. Concurrent session – 20 minutes in length
2. Symposium – 1 hour in length containing 2-3 papers on the same topic
3. Workshop – 1 hour in length.
4. Poster – (Posters are presented digital)

The congress scientific committee will review your submission.

The Abstract must include Background • Aim • Method • Result • Discussion

Closing date for submissions (First Call) is Monday 15th December 2025
