Saint John of God Hospital, an independent 183 bed acute psychiatric teaching hospital, is one of the leading European providers in mental healthcare treatment services.  The Hospital currently provides assessment and treatment for adolescents, adults and the elderly referred with Mental Health Needs. This Includes Anxiety and Mood Disorders, Psychotic Disorders, Eating Disorders and Addictions.''

The Hospital is affiliated with University College Dublin for undergraduate education programmes and is fully accredited by the Royal College of Psychiatrists for postgraduate training. An extensive clinical research programme operates throughout the Order's Mental Health Services. Psychiatric Staff Nurses Required (Permanent, Fixed Term and Relief)

The Nursing Department now wishes to recruit progressive and innovative nursing personnel to work in the following areas:

  • High Dependency

  • Psychiatry of Later Life

  • Acute General Adult Psychiatry

  • Eating Disorders

  • Addictions Service

  • Adolescence

Whether you are looking for a full-time, part-time, job-sharing position on a permanent, fixed term or relief basis, we may have an option to suit you. Both experienced and/or newly registered psychiatric nurses will be considered and student nurses who are qualifying later this year are invited to apply.

PNA BURSARIES FOR HORATIO CONGRESS BERLIN MAY 15-17, 2025

Dear Colleagues,

This year the PNA will continue its sponsorship of Members to attend the Horatio European Congress organised by Horatio and the German Psychiatric Nurses, having done so previously for events in Lisbon, Malta, Istanbul, Stockholm, Prague, Faroe Islands, Copenhagen and Malmo

The PNA in supporting this Congress are pleased to confirm a number of bursaries which will be offered by lottery to Presenters of Papers, Officer Board Members, Branch Officers and Members.

This year’s bursaries will be worth approximately €1000.This Bursary is based on the combined cost of the Congress Fees, Flights and Accommodation.
