The Psychiatric Nurses Association (PNA) said today (Wednesday 25th May) it has suspended for a week the commencement of industrial action due to begin tomorrow (Thursday 26th) in Laois Offaly mental health services.
The suspension of the action for one week follows a meeting with the HSE this morning at which commitments (with a clear timetable for a series of actions) were given by HSE to address the understaffing in the Laois/ Offaly services where 40 of 155 WTE (Whole Time Equivalent) posts are vacant.
A further meeting will take place on Thursday 2nd June to review the undertakings given by HSE on staffing.
