Following a commitment from HSE to withdraw the threat of sanctions against staff at the Acute Psychiatric Unit at University College Hospital Galway (UCHG) it has been agreed that the Psychiatric Nurses Association (PNA) and HSE will recommence talks under the auspices of the LRC on the substantive issues of staffing and staff and patient safety at the Unit.
The ‘work to rule' by staff which commenced on Tuesday will remain in place pending the outcome of the reconvened LRC talks.
